Secretary Rollins Sets New Course for USDA

by | Feb 17, 2025 | Farmers and Ranchers, Liberty Matters | 0 comments

Newly confirmed U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins pledged on day one to “bring greater efficiency to USDA to ensure it better serves American farmers, ranchers, and the agriculture community.”

Starting January 20th, USDA began a comprehensive review of contracts, personnel, and employee trainings, and DEI programs.  From that review, USDA terminated 78 contracts totalling $132 million and is reviewing an additional 1,000 contracts for potential termination and reducing waste of tax-payer dollars.

Examples of the contracts include the infamous Politico subscriptions for $2.77 million, Central American Gender Assessment Consultant for $29,000, $298,000 for International Development for Historically Underrepresented Communities, and Diversity Dialogue Workshops for $254,000.

All this waste and fraud could have been spent on helping farmers and ranchers, but the Biden administration’s priorities were on other causes.
