Now that the transfer of power has officially taken place in Washington D.C., the work begins to dig out from the decades of environmental degradation of our land and liberties. But we begin with a major victory. The Executive Order that initiated 30×30 was rescinded on day one!
Thank you President Trump and all the good people in the new Administration that made sure ending the policy that initiated this land grab was a top priority. But now the hard work really begins. The Administration still needs to identify and dig out of the federal bureaucracy the many programs the Biden Administration has entrenched to keep the agenda rolling.
There is also another key Biden Executive order that needs to be revoked. It is EO number 14072 directing the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) to “issue guidance related to the valuation of ecosystem and environmental services and natural assets in Federal regulatory decision-making.”
At the end of December, Biden’s OMB released a draft guidance policy for public comment – deadline February 18, 2025. The policy would implement the Biden White House strategy to create natural capital accounts and place natural assets, federal holdings and private property as collateral on the nation’s balance sheet. We’ve flagged this for the incoming administration, and hope to see it quickly reversed.
There is much more that needs to be done to unravel the erosion of property rights under the Biden regime. However, we are already off to a great start!
