The Woke ideology has been used to destroy much of our nation’s heritage and history over the last decade.
President Trump’s Executive Order – “Restoring Truth and Sanity to American History” – is returning our culture and history to our national parks, museums, including the Smithsonian Institution, places of historical significance such as Independence Hall, and returning truth to our American history.
“Over the past decade, Americans have witnessed a concerted and widespread effort to rewrite our Nation’s history, replacing objective facts with a distorted narrative driven by ideology rather than truth. This revisionist movement seeks to undermine the remarkable achievements of the United States by casting its founding principles and historical milestones in a negative light. Under this historical revision, our Nation’s unparalleled legacy of advancing liberty, individual rights, and human happiness is reconstructed as inherently racist, sexist, oppressive, or otherwise irredeemably flawed. Rather than fostering unity and a deeper understanding of our shared past, the widespread effort to rewrite history deepens societal divides and fosters a sense of national shame, disregarding the progress America has made and the ideals that continue to inspire millions around the globe,” the EO explained.
Although not mentioned in the President’s EO, employees within the federal land agencies have begun removing signs and displays in our national parks that reference climate change, slavery, racism, Indigenous persecution, and other misinterpretations of our national history.
U.S. Representative Chellie Pingree (D-Maine), called the removal of signs from a park in her state, an “outrageous assault on our free speech and ability to educate (indoctrinate) each other.”
The signs she’s referring to claimed climate change’s role in extreme weather has caused millions of dollars in damage to the park, including sea-level rise, storm surge and extreme rains. Hardly disastrous stuff, but nonetheless, a cause she is willing to champion!
Using the left’s own reasoning and projecting it on the Trump administration, Pingree claims Trump is “trying to dumb everyone down and pretend real weather events don’t happen by not letting you read a simple sign.”
Fortunately, the new administration has not only taken down all these signs and references that rewrite our history, but have also purged their websites from all similar propaganda.
